Laurie Collins Marine in Westhaven had a change of ownership on June 1st 2009. With a new look and almost new team, you will notice the difference when you go to Laurie Collins Westhaven Ltd. A fresh look has been created with new building signage, a new logo and inviting offices.
Laurie Collins has always been one of New Zealand's premium brokerage locations, on one of the largest marinas in the southern hemisphere with over 2,000 boats on the doorstep. Westhaven Marina is centrally located, just minutes from the C.B.D. at 103 Westhaven Drive, Westhaven, under Sails restaurant, where parking is not a problem!
Our team is industry recognised. With years of practical sea-going and ownership experience. We sell yachts, launches and multihulls of all sizes and price ranging from $50,000 to $5,000,000 and we have the ability to find that boat you're looking for, even if it's not in our listing.
We have an archive of boats listed and sold over the last 25 years, so there are not many boats we don't know about. Wayne Baston, the Managing Director, is keen to make the difference with your buying experience. We have a great team and we are keen to please and go the extra distance to give the customer value for money.
We have looked at the way we do business and decided on an approach where we have people specialising in their area of knowledge, so we can maximise the benefit to the customer. We are also now specialising in Multihulls, power and sail, and we are delighted to have Greg Steinbeck taking charge of that division. So we are keen for more listings to help the success of our new direction.

Terry Koefoed heads the Yacht Division, along with Dennis Craig, who has had vast marine experience and is a qualified marine engineer.
Wayne wants to offer clients, and the boating public, marine services such as boat grooming and detailing. Our valet department will make the difference to the look of your boat. This can be a one-off or we can look after your boat on an ongoing basis. A lot of our clients are having their boat valet before they list them with us. This adds value and helps to get a good result sooner for a reasonable cost, considering the value of your investment.
Laurie Collins also offers yacht and launch deliveries, costal and off-shore, with professional skippers.
We are also looking for one more member to join our Sales team, to sell used yachts from our office in Westhaven. Boating experience and knowledge would be an advantage.

I am a keen boatie and have had boats and launches of one type oranother most of my life. I enjoy game and recreational fishing. A member of the RNZYS for many years and enjoy living in the local area,not far from Westhaven.

Joined Laurie Collins Westhaven in August 2009 as a broker specialising in Yacht sales. My yachting history starts with 'M' Class - owned and raced 'Monalua' and 'Moonlight' for eight years - winning the 'Logan Memorial' trophy once. Progressed to the Des Townson designed Pied Piper 'Pinotage' and then to a Don Senior designed and built 32' keeler named "The Red Bean".
The last boat owned was the S & S designed traditional ketch "Tamahine O Hau" which we owned for some 17 years. Currently a RNZYS Club Race Officer (member since 1962) assisting in race management and driving the committee and mark boats. Bringing vendors and purchasers together for a successful boat sale is an ongoing challenge, and one that is a very enjoyable experience.
I have owned a boat for 29 years, I am a keen boatie and a successful marine consultant for eight years, I have enjoyed the business I have achieved.
Previously in truck sales management. I live in Herne Bay, handy to Westhaven Marina and Laurie Collins, where I love working, specialising in launch sales. I look forward to meeting you soon!
A lifetime of boating from Sabots at 6 years to a Multihull Power Cat 53 years later. In between time racing in P Class, Hobie Cats, Townson 32 our oasis 'Birdsal Magic', and 'Arethust Farr 38 Angstrom', then great success in Australia in the Eighties with a Laurie Davidson 780 built by Ian Franklin.
Then had a string of self built or finished boats culminating in the current Roger Hill Power Cat built in partnership and launched in Nov 08. I am part of a crew of 4 that specialises in power boat deliveries to Australia, the Pacific and beyond. I have a particular passion for Multihulls - The future of boating!
I am based in Whitianga where I have been living for the last 5 years. I have been involved with boats for over 30 years and currently own a 46' Kennedy. I have gained a huge knowledge on boats in that time and have been a broker in Whitianga for 5 years now and have enjoyed the success that I have had and the people I have met.
